I may not be an avid sports fan unless it is the WWE but when the Olympics begin, I am glued to the screen.
I have enjoyed watching the Olympics since the 1996 Summer Olympic Games when Donovan Bailey won the gold for Canada and was considered the World’s Fastest Man. I remember the excitement that I felt when Canada experienced an iconic moment in Olympic history and thus my love for watching the Olympics began. Cheering on the athletes from my home and native land as they compete for the Olympic gold is such a thrill for me because A) I love competition, B) I have such an admiration for world class athletes and C) I love Canada! Read more about my love of Canada here.
The winter Olympics are a time for Canada shine and I can’t wait to see Canada bring home the gold! I may not be able to fly over to PyeongChang this year but I can wear my support for the Canadian Olympic athletes right here in Toronto while I wear my version of a Canadian Olympic outfit.
Wearing a sporty look to show my love for the Canadian Olympic athletes is just not me so instead I will be wearing an outfit that is classic and chic of course! Red and white is obviously a prerequisite for any Canadian-themed outfit so I am wearing my red coat that was purchased from Zara a few years ago. You can read more about this coat here. I love this coat because of its classic and glamorous red shade. My red Zara coat also has a flattering silhouette and skirt like bottom giving it almost the appearance of a dress with its flared out bottom.
Naturally, I paired this look with my Hudson’s Bay cashmere scarf. It does not get more Canadian than a Hudson’s Bay scarf especially when it is so soft, cozy and warm. My faux fur earmuffs play into the red and white theme of this outfit due to its lighter shade while keeping this look fun. For my handbag, I went with something a little edgy from Zara. I purchased this handbag in London two years ago and I love how it is fresh take on a classic look.
For my makeup look, I wore my new favourite matte red lipstick from Maybelline. With my love of Canada, there is no other lipstick colour I could possibly wear. This classic red lipstick is called “Pioneer” and it is from the SuperStay Matte Ink line. I love wearing the lipstick from Maybelline’s SuperStay Matte Ink line because the colours are saturated and long lasting. I hate when I wear lipstick that fades shortly after putting it on and this lipstick is so good it even stays after eating and drinking! I love it!
