Today I thought I would share with you some more outfit photos from my vacation in Italy! If you haven’t already read my first travel style diary in Italy, “Italy Travel Style Diary: Touring Tivoli” you may do so here. This vacation was wonderful and allowed me to learn a lot about Italian history and culture.
One of my favourite things to do when I travel is learn about my destination’s culture so I can come home feeling like I have gained some intellectual value from my experience. When I am traveling, I always take style inspiration from the city that I am because I feel it adds to the whole adventure. On this day of my trip, we visited Florence and got to see Il Duomo de Firenzi named in honour of Santa Maria del Fiore, it was stunning! I have such an appreciation for old Italian architecture because they spent so much time perfecting each portion of their intricate old buildings. Il Duomo de Firenzi is known for its Gothic architecture and is one of Italy’s largest churches. Florence was absolutely lovely and every bit charming with its cobble stones and breathtaking churches. We also visited the Michelangelo’s David which left me in awe. Seeing such a historical piece of art in real life was incredible. The statue was much larger than I expected it to be and the marble looked so smooth.
It was quite chilly in Florence so I decided to wear a long sleeved cropped black blazer and long pants which were both purchased from H&M in Rome. I chose this black blazer while I was shopping because I loved the fact that it was cropped. When worn with high-waisted pants, like in the picture below or an A-Line skirt with a nipped-on waist, this cropped blazer emphasizes the smallest part of your waist creating a flattering silhouette. These satin green pants were so comfortable and I love the way the rich army green shade looks against the black blazer. The combination of the style and colour of these pants create an edgy look that contrasts very nicely with not only a cropped blazer but more feminine pieces as well such as a white lace blouse.
You guys know that I love contrast and colour so I obviously chose to wear a bright orange blouse with my outfit which gives the overall look a nice pop of colour! My necklace, which was also purchase from H&M in Rome adds yet another contrast and burst of colour to the outfit with its blue and pink jewels. I am a Taurus which means I rule the neck and throat so for anyone that is interested in astrology, you know why I am always drawn to statement necklaces and scarves. Statement necklaces are just so glamorous and elevate the style of basic outfits. Statement necklaces are also conversation starters. Whenever I wear a statement necklace, people will often compliment me and ask where I purchased it from and then the exchange of questions and answer turns into a nice, little chat!
To cap off this look, pun intended, I wore my fedora to block the harmful rays of the sun and add some style to the outfit and again decided to wear my comfy, cozy Birkenstocks! When spending a long day on my feet, it is best that I wear something that is comfortable!
Thank you so much for reading and have a lovely day!
