Feeling Pretty In A Pastel Coat For Spring

Spring has officially sprung! It is a brand-new season bursting with the sounds of birds chirping, blossoming flowers and the return of leaves of the trees. Living in Toronto, I feel very fortunate that I get to experience four different seasons. Spring is one of my favourite seasons for a number of reasons:

1) The weather is not too hot and not too cold.

2) There is generally a fresh feeling in the air that gets me excited about new beginnings.

3) The fashion is light, bright and, fun!

Personally, the fashion trends that I am excited about this spring are the metallic sneakers, feminine bell sleeves and off-the shoulder looks.

The one item I love to wear to cap off my outfit in the spring is a coat! Spring coats just have a way of bringing a whole look together. They are fresh, lightweight and fancy-free.

I tend to gravitate toward spring coats that have a feminine and classic feel because I believe that they make any outfit look put together. Feminine and classic coats also provide a nice juxtaposition when worn with bright, saturated colours and statement necklaces.

My Zara pastel blue spring coat is one of my favourites to wear because of the soft colour, large pockets and mod vibe. I love that this coat is collarless because it leaves room for a scarf or statement necklace – two of my favourite accessories – take centre stage. The gold zipper of this coat adds a luxurious touch and provides a nice contrast to the light blue shade. It’s the little details that make a coat interesting.

I decided to wear my powder blue spring coat with my hot pink cashmere sweater, distressed jeans and Michael Kors Hamilton Tote because I love the variations that this combination of colours and textures creates.

The powder blue and hot pink shades worn together add an interesting touch to the edgy denim. The camel colour of my tote bag lovingly fits in with the overall look.

Printed Scarf: H&M, similar printed scarf, similar printed scarf, similar printed scarf, similar printed scarf, similar printed scarf

I decided to wear my neon yellow and pink animal printed scarf with this look because I have a thing with scarves and the two colours both equally blend and contrast with the whole outfit at the same time. When wearing solids, a printed scarf is a welcome pop of fun!

Thank you so much for reading and have a lovely day!
