Cold Weather Style: Cashmere Edition

Up until recently, I hadn’t owned a cashmere sweater. However, after years of spending money on sweaters that made my skin feel itchy and fail to keep me warm, I knew it was time to invest in a better quality sweater. So I set my sights on cashmere.

One fall day when I was shopping I decided to go to one of my favourite stores, Club Monaco. They have a chic, modern yet classic aesthetic and I love to support them because of their Canadian origins.

When I walked into Club Monaco to my delight, I was happily greeted by an array of cashmere sweaters! As I walked through the store and touched all of the sweaters I was pleased with the soft fabric and began to imagine how nice it would feel against my skin. The next thing that I noticed was that I wasn’t sneezing, which is what usually happens when I am even in the presence of certain sweater fabrics. Acrylic sweaters, I am looking at you.

After trying on a few cashmere sweaters, dresses and vests, I was hooked. The fabric felt cozy, silky soft, warm and hygge. I envisioned myself wearing them while cozying up with a warm drink or with some boots and a hat! Anytime, I can envision myself wearing a fashion piece in my daily life I know it is winner.

It has been mighty cold in Toronto lately so on a recent Saturday afternoon outing, I decided to wear my caramel cashmere vest over my grey cashmere sweater underneath my olive green winter coat and I must say, I was toasty!

Winter coat: Aritzia (similar), Plaid scarf: Joe Fresh (similar), Black mitts: Mendocino (similar), Handbag: Zara (similar), Rubber Boots: Hunter

Since cashmere is a breathable fabric, I did not feel overheated as I was shopping inside. I was perfectly comfortable in layered my sweaters.

Vest: Club Monaco (similar), Mock Turtleneck: Club Monaco (similar), Jeans: Miss Selfridges (similar), Eiffel Tower Necklace: Old (similar)

I love the fact that this cozy, caramel cashmere sweater is a vest because you can throw it on with a long-sleeved t-shirt, a turtleneck, a silky boho dress, a collared blouse or a long-sleeved dress. The possibilities are endless!

Another thing that is great about this cashmere vest is that it is so warm! When the temperature warms up a little bit in early spring, I could definitely get away with wearing this toasty vest in lieu of a jacket.

Thank you for reading and have a lovely day!
